Bad Branch Falls – Trip Details
Bad Branch Falls is about 5 miles west of Lakemont, GA in the northeast corner of the state. The road to the fall crosses just below the dam and continues alongside the scenic mountain lake.
Once you park on the side of the road, the waterfall is only a few hundred yards up the trail. It features steep canyon walls and prolific moss growth on the shaded side. There isn’t a ton of water, so be wary of expecting a huge waterfall late into the drier summer months.
I’ve read that there are more falls upstream if you brave the rugged terrain, but I just didn’t have time to explore when I was there. I’d love to hear about it in the comments if you do, though!
