Dicks Creek Falls is a decent-sized multiple drop waterfall in the heart of the Chattahoochee National Forest north of Dahlonega, Georgia. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends in the summer due to the nice swimming hole below the falls and the short walk to get there.
Dicks Creek Falls – Trip Details
You can get to Dicks Creek Falls by travelling north on Highway 19 from Dahlonega and then turning left onto Dicks Creek Road about 1/2 a mile before the intersection with Highway 129. Continue past Water Creek Campground and you’ll soon reach a large parking area near the creek. The falls will be to your east just off of the road.
As I mentioned in the intro, this is a pretty popular place in warmer weather due to the popularity of this location as a swimming destination. Why use a pool when you have a clear mountain stream, I guess?
Just be sure to navigate the slippery rocks with care if you do decide to get wet.
You may want to arrive early or go earlier in the spring if you have an aversion to crowds in your waterfall pictures. 😉
